Marilyn Johnny is Kwakiutl, her Kwakiutl name is ‘Mal’malekalas, from the Kwakiutl First Nation from the village of Fort Rupert on the Northern tip of Vancouver Island. In 2017 Marilyn graduated with a First Nation Housing Manager Certificate from Vancouver Island University. She has a very strong background, knowledge, education, and experience in delivery of both on/off reserve housing programs offered Provincial/Federal beginning in 1994.
Marilyn Johnny joined FNHIC-BC as a Regional Engagement Coordinator in 2020 during the Phase 3 Engagement with First Nations in BC in creating the new First Nation Housing and Infrastructure Authority. In 2022 Marilyn is thrilled to continue as a Regional Housing Hub Coordinator (RHHC) with the amazing team at FNHIC. She continues building relationships/partnerships with all First Nations in the following regions, Vancouver Island, Vancouver Coastal, North, Northeast/Eastern. The First Nations Housing & Infrastructure Council (FNHIC) is creating a First Nations-led Housing and Infrastructure Organization in British Columbia for First Nations ‘based on First Nations’ traditional values, principles, and governance practices. Marilyn is an avid soccer player, honoraria member of NIFA, and is a volunteer committee member on the Aboriginal Soccer Committee at ISPARC,
