Chioma Ayika was born and raised in the Eastern region of Nigeria. In 2018, she relocated to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where she completed her final year of high school at St. Margaret’s Secondary School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biopsychology from the University of Victoria, where she gained a strong foundation in both biological sciences and psychology. Her academic background supports her interest in mental health and human development.

Chioma has worked as a Child and Youth Support Worker, providing care and support to children and youth, including First Nations teenagers with diverse physical, mental, and social needs. Her experience in this role strengthened her skills in caregiving, advocacy, and trauma-informed support.

Currently, Chioma serves as a Program Administrative Assistant and Executive Assistant at the First Nations Housing and Infrastructure Council (FNHIC), supporting the URN & RH program, the FNHIC team and the Board of Directors. She provides administrative coordination and contributes to the efficient operation of the organization. Her best part of the job is working with the amazing and very supportive team members of FNHIC!

Chioma is known for her reliability, collaborative spirit, and positive attitude. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active, watching movies, and spending time with friends.
