Martina Lewis is a proud member of the Okanagan Indian Band near Vernon, BC, where she was raised. From an early age, she was introduced to construction and home building through her family, sparking a passion that would shape her career. Martina spent approximately 10 years working in the construction industry before feeling called to make a broader impact in First Nations housing.

She pursued post-secondary education at Okanagan College, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Shortly after graduating, she took on the role of Housing Officer for her community. For six years, she managed the rental units, led new housing projects, and coordinated many major renovations and repairs.

Martina is deeply committed to the belief that all First Nations people deserve access to safe, healthy, and affordable housing. This conviction drives her work as Director of Asset Management at the First Nations Housing Infrastructure Council (FNHIC).

When she’s not addressing the housing crisis, Martina enjoys spending time on the land—camping, fishing, golfing, hiking, skiing—and making new memories with her young son.
