We are so pleased to introduce our new Junior Communications Analyst, Jared Nome. Jared Nome’s pronouns are he/him/his. Jared is a Carrier and Dakelh First Nation from the Lheidli T’enneh Nation, Beaver Clan. Jared is currently a University of Northern British Columbia Undergraduate Student studying to attain his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Human Resources and Marketing. His previous education includes a Fashion Marketing and Management Diploma from the Art Institute of Vancouver and a Fashion Design and Merchandising Certificate from the Paris Fashion Institute. Jared is a 2SLGBTQQIA+ and Indigenous individual and is passionate about FNHIC’s mission, vision, and value proposition, as he represents groups that the traditional Canadian housing model historically have discriminated against. Through his role, Jared is committed to upholding the values of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity in the workplace and understands the importance of marketing, communication, and teamwork to reach organizational goals and objectives. Jared has work experience in event management, social media management, traditional marketing communications, and internet marketing. His favourite hobbies are running, yoga, reading, art, and watching talk shows. Jared volunteers regularly and believes that giving back to the community is not only a source of happiness but is in alignment with Indigenous philosophy and spirit. Being a member of Lheidli T’enneh, Jared has been involved in many political processes that have both challenged the Canadian governments but also have fostered reconciliation and healing within the Lheidli T’enneh community.

Jared is excited to be working with FNHIC BC to create a healthier and safer housing model for 2SLGBTQQIA+ and Indigenous Peoples moving forward.
