Lindsey Pelky is a member of the Anishinaabe First Nation, Opwaaganasiniing, in Northwestern Ontario - a community that is a signatory to the 1850 Robinson Superior Treaty and Treaty 3 of 1873. With over twenty years of experience in construction across Canada, including in the Canadian High Arctic, Lindsey’s work has been shaped by a deep respect for community, culture, and the land.
His efforts have often focused on housing in First Nations communities, where he’s contributed through roles with the Nunavut Housing Corporation and as a Hamlet Councilor in Resolute Bay. These experiences continue to guide his approach - one rooted in listening, collaboration, and the belief that infrastructure should reflect and support the people it serves.
Today, Lindsey supports a range of initiatives through consulting, site supervision, and policy development, always with an emphasis on health, safety, and long-term sustainability, and while his journey has taken him to many places, connection to his culture and the land remains constant. Grounded in traditional knowledge and guided by his ancestral language, he approaches his work with humility and care, always learning from those around him and holding close the values passed down through generations.
